CLARKSVILLE, IOWA -- Edward H. "Eddy" Johnson, 60, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, April 16, at Waverly Heath Center, Waverly, of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 26, 1947, at home in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, son of Henry and Roberta Graff Johnson. He married Thea Kay Reents Green on Oct. 17, 1987, at Little Brown Church, Nashua. She died May 9, 2006.
Mr. Johnson received his education in the Marble Rock and Greene schools. He first worked as a mason in Waterloo; worked at the sand and gravel plant near Shell Rock; the saw mill in Clarksville; and later at Winnebago Industries, Hampton. For the past 17 years he has been a material handler at Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Shell Rock.
Survived by: three sons, Jeremiah (Kris) Johnson of Parkersburg and Jay (Connie) Green and Kurt (Laura) Green, both of Clarksville; a daughter, Sara (Ted) Ferch of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Jane) Johnson of Newton and Merle (Ethel) Krueger of Greene; three sisters, Jolene Steere and Julie (Mike) Brinkman, both of Greene, and Janice (Burdett) Neal of Waterloo; and special friend, Kathy "Jake."
Preceded in death by: his parents; and his stepmother, Ruby Erpelding.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Clarksville.
