CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Arthur B. Neir, 83, of 604 N. Iowa St., Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Friday, February 14, 1997, at a Rochester, [Olmsted county] Minnesota hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bethany Alliance Church, with the Rev. Jim McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with the family greeting friends from 5 to 8 p.m.. Visitation will continue from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the church.

Arthur Barth Neir was born April 30, 1913, at Greene, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, of Charles City; three daughters, Barbara Kock of Charles City, Sharon Adamson of Boone, and Ruth Nelson of Marion, S.D.; three sons, Stephen Neir of Mankato, Minn.; Paul Neir of Bedford, Texas, and Dan Neir of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Amos Neir of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters.
