NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Thelma Hofacre, 91, of Nora Springs, died Monday (Sept. 19, 2005) at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 101 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Burial will be at the Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

The family requests memorials are made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Thelma L. Hofacre, 91, of 907 West Congress, Nora Springs, died Monday (Sept. 19, 2005) at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.

Thelma Lucille Hofacre was born on July 30, 1914, in Mason City, daughter of Anthony and Rosa (Schultz) Ross. Thelma attended Nora Springs Community School.

On July 28, 1932, Thelma was united in marriage to Kenneth Hofacre in Mason City. He passed away on Dec. 20, 1984.

Thelma was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, where she was active in the “Friendly Circle.”

She enjoyed walks, fishing and gathering walnuts and giving them away to friends.

Thelma is survived by her nieces and nephews, William Armstrong, Poway, Calif., Jack Armstrong, Rogers, Ariz., Joyce Armstrong, Bella Vista, Ariz., Joann Mennenga, Iowa Falls, and Dennis, Gary and Gene Hofacre, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters.
