MASON CITY — Edna F. Uker, 98, of Mason City, died Wednesday (Sept. 14, 2005) at Heritage Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Tom Healey of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be directed to the Edna F. Uker Memorial Fund and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Edna was born on March 29, 1907, in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Lillian (Woodley) VanRiper. She attended schools in Hanlontown and Lake Mills. She married Clifford Mostrom in 1925, and was married to him until his death in 1953. She then married William Uker on March 29, 1955. Edna lived in Rockford until moving to Mason City in 1992.

She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, entertaining and be-ing around friends and family.

She is survived by grandchildren, Mark Mostrom and wife, Cindy, of Mason City, Lisa VoPava and husband, James, of Freeland, Pa., Cindy Lang and husband, Richard, of Des Moines; stepdaughters, Mary Reed of Marble Rock and families, Grace Oghum and husband, William, of Rock Island, Ill., and families; eight great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Emma Mostrom of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clifford Mostrom; second husband, William Uker; son, Richard Mostrom; daughter, Lillian Napatalino; two brothers and five sisters.
