MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — Lanora Marie Shultz, 92, of 151 Roadrunner Parkway, Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Marble Rock, died Monday, (June 13, 2005) at the Village at North Rise, Las Cruces.

Funeral services for Lanora Marie Shultz will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Marble Rock, with Pastor Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, 423 Bradford St., Marble Rock, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Marble Rock Methodist Church or to the hospice of the donor's choice.

Lanora Marie Shultz was born Aug. 30, 1912, in Marble Rock, Floyd County, a daughter of Alton Martin and Maude Beatrice (Davis) Preston, and died Monday (June 13, 2005) at the Village at North Rise, Las Cruces, New Mexico.

She received her education in the Marble Rock Public Schools, graduating in 1930. Later she attended St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, Minn.

Lanora was united in marriage to Earl Raymond Shultz on Aug. 12, 1938, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union were born four children.

Lanora was a homemaker on the family farm and provided loving care for her husband and children. She was a member of the Home and Garden Club and the United Methodist Women. Lanora also enjoyed bowling, traveling and being outdoors.

Living family members include her two daughters: Edith (Robert) Norris of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Margaret (Reldon)Beck of Las Cruces, N.M.; a son, Paul Gene Shultz of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandsons: Michael (Debra) Norris of Omaha, Neb., Joseph Beck of Las Cruces, N.M., and Loren (Sharon) Beck of McGehee, Ark.; five great-grandchildren: Ian Norris and Sydney Norris of Omaha, Neb., Bryan Beck, Jeffery Beck and Nathan Beck all of McGehee, Alaska; two brothers-in-law: Rodney Benner, Clear Lake, and Lowell Shultz, Charles City; four sisters-in-law: Pauline Shultz and Shirley Shultz of Charles City, Margaret Shultz of Greene, and Hattie Harvig, of Osage.

Lanora was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Raymond Shultz (May 2, 1993); her son, Earl Raymond Shultz (Jan 13, 1969); her parents; two sisters: Audrey Billett and Margery Benner; and a brother, Ralph Preston.
