ESTHERVILLE, IOWA — Funeral services for Carl Lamb, 77, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Warren Baker officiating. Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Ringsted, with military graveside rites by the V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Carl Roger Lamb, the son of Lee and Anne Gayle (Heft) Lamb, was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Rockford, Iowa. He died Saturday (June 4, 2005) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., at the age of 77 years.

He was a graduate of Marble Rock High School. On June 24, 1951, Carl was united in marriage to Norma Nelson. During the Korean Conflict, Carl served in the United States Army as a corporal in Signal Corps. Carl was employed as a mechanic at Allison Implement in Allison, Iowa, for 12 years. He was later employed at Reeds Implement in Ringsted.

In 1966, they moved to Estherville, where Carl was employed at Ray's Farm Store for many years. Later he was employed by Firestone and Christensen-Larson Construction.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 91 in Estherville.

Carl's memory will be cherished by his wife, Norma, of Estherville; his children, Kathlyn Reed of Oak Grove, Minn.; Cindy Lamb of Buffalo, N.Y.; Nancy Hargens of Belleville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Derek, Danelle Hargens and Joshua Reed; one brother, Marvin Lamb and his wife, Alice, of Charles City, and their family.

Preceding Carl in death were his parents and his sister, Donna Schlick.
