Roger Fisher, 72, of Charles City, died Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Roger Allen Fisher was born May 7, 1936, at Charles City, the son of Melvin and Lucille (Rourke) Fisher. In 1954 he graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School in Charles City.

On April 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sheila Obermeier at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Roger was employed as purchasing manager at the Oliver White Farm Equipment Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elks Club and the Cedar Ridge Golf course.

Living family members include his wife, Sheila of Charles City; five children and their families; Dennis (Pat) Fisher and Brett of Johnston, Jacqueline (David) Hibbard, Grant and Greg of Van Meter, David Fisher, Logan and Laurel of Waukee, Julie (Stan) Davis, Eric, Sean and Kyle of Huxley, and Kevin of Charles City; four step-granddaughters; eight step-great grandchildren; a brother, James (Jan) Fisher of Charles City; and two sisters, Mary Palmer of Charles City and Nancy (Lee) Kane of Urbandale.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Roger Fisher, 72, of Charles City, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Roger Fisher will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may greet the family at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday where a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m.

On April 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sheila Obermeier at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Roger was employed as purchasing manager at the Oliver White Farm Equipment Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elks Club and the Cedar Ridge Golf course. He was an avid follower of the Iowa Hawkeye’s basketball and football teams. If anyone wanted an answer to an Iowa sports question they would call Roger. His other interests included bowling and golfing.

Roger’s greatest joy was watching his grandchildren participate in their various activities and sharing in those special moments with them. Living family members include his wife, Sheila of Charles City; five children and their families; Dennis (Pat) Fisher and Brett of Johnston, Jacqueline (David) Hibbard, Grant and Greg of Van Meter, David Fisher, Logan and Laurel of Waukee, Julie (Stan) Davis, Eric, Sean and Kyle of Huxley, and Kevin of Charles City; four step-granddaughters; eight step-great grandchildren; a brother, James (Jan) Fisher of Charles City; and two sisters, Mary Palmer of Charles City and Nancy (Lee) Kane of Urbandale.
