ROCKFORD, IOWA — Carol Ann “Sis” Fenton, 50, of 204 1st Ave. S.W., Rockford, left us on Saturday (Sept. 6, 2003) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, to be with her grandson Jordan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 805 E. Main Ave., Rockford, with the Rev. Patricia Shaw officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock.

The family will greet friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. Those wishing to extend memorials or an expression of sympathy may direct them to the family.

“Sis” was born July 28, 1953, in Charles City, to Delmer and Caroline (Mehmen) Fisher. She was one of six children. “Sis” had spent most of her life in the Rockford and Floyd County area.

On Nov. 4, 1972, “Sis” was united in marriage to Dennis Fenton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union two sons were born, Delmer and Jerry. “Sis” enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. “We will miss her green chili”. She enjoyed going to the car races, especially those in which her sons participated and competed in. “Sis” loved to play bingo on the computer and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She was a very kind and nurturing mother, grandmother and wife.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in her life are her loving and devoted husband, Dennis of Rockford; two sons, Delmer Fenton and his wife, Melissa “Missy”, of Marble Rock, and Jerry Fenton and his wife, Corinne “Cori”, of Williamsburg; her pride and joy of three grandchildren, Madison and Cole Fenton of Marble Rock, and Cale Fenton of Williamsburg; her mother, Caroline Fisher, of Rockford; two sisters, Robin Shafer and her husband, Scott, of Rockford, and Sandy Jones and her husband, Kevin, of Aredale; three brothers — twin brothers, Allan Fisher and his wife, LuAnn, of Clear Lake, and Alvin Fisher and his wife, Vicki, of Charles City — and Jim Fisher and his wife, Melissa, of Rockford. She will also be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other family, friends and the family dog “Tiny”.

“Sis” was preceded in death by her father, Delmer Fisher; her first grandson, Jordan; and her mother and father-in-law, Fred and Mary Fenton.
