NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Lester Otto Kreimeyer, 62, of Nora Springs, formerly of Geneva, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Ackley, with the Rev. Patricia Connor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley, with military rites conducted by Elliott-Keninger Post No. 252 American Legion of Ackley. Visitation was held on Thursday at Sietsema Funeral Home, 501 10th Ave. in Ackley.

Lester was born on Jan. 23, 1941 in rural Ackley, to Otto and Grace (Huisenga) Kreimeyer. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1963.

He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Knipfel on Sept. 18, 1965 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ackley. They were later divorced. He was engaged in farming and retired in 2003. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by a son, Leslie J. Kreimeyer, of Hampton; a daughter, Melissa Hinders and her husband, Ron, of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Megan, Amanda, Jessica, and Jacob Hinders, of Clarksville, and Logan Kreimeyer, of Hampton; two sisters, Marlys Kuehne and her husband, Richard, of Osage, and Betty Meyer and her husband, Lynn, of Marshalltown.

He enjoyed camping, managing the MacNider Campgrounds in Mason City, fishing, spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren, and playing cribbage with friends.
