David W. Herman, 36, of 202 9th Ave., Charles City, died early Monday morning, November 3, 2003, in Charles City. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2003, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, with Rev. A.C. Wegner officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Military Rites will be accorded by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City. Those planning memorials or an expression of sympathy may direct them to the family in C/O David's brother, Curt Herman, 400 15th Ave., Charles City.

David Wayne Herman was born December 6, 1966, in Charles City, the son of Alfred and Shirley (Newman) Herman. David grew up in and attended school in Charles City, graduating from Charles City High School, Class of 1984. He honorably served in the Army National Guard. David was employed with Midwest Roofing as a roofer in Mason City. Those grateful for having had the privilege of sharing David's life are his children, David, Jonathon, Matthew and Janelle all of New Hampton; his special friend, Allison Fisher; Grandmother, Lois Newman of Charles City; two brothers, Curt Herman and his wife, Jo Ann of Charles City; Calvin Putney of Garwin; three sisters, LaVonne Herman, Connie Alik and her husband, Heniki and Sherry Herman and his former wife, Carrie Herman, all of Charles City. David will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Herman and his parents, Alfred and Shirley Herman.
