Teddy Norman Trainer was born November 28, 1941, at Charles City, the son of Charles and Irma (Bucknell) Trainer. He attended Charles City High School. Ted served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963 where he received distinguished service awards for East German border patrol, marksmanship and as a tank driver. On October 3, 1964, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ready. Ted touched many people in his life. He started work at the Ellendale Dairy, which was family owned, and Kirsch Body Shop.

He worked 17 years at White Farm where he was a machinist and supervisor. In 1987, Diversified Manufacturing was established where Ted worked as shop supervisor until his retirement on October 1, 2003. Ted's sharp wit, exceptional wisdom and candor will be missed by all that knew him. He was an avid sportsman which was displayed through his love of auto racing, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Ted's abilities with his hands were one of a kind. He was blessed with the talents to fix anything. However, Ted's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted and extremely faithful husband, dad, and grandpa. Ted was an active member in his church and knew Jesus as his savior. We are comforted knowing that Ted is now walking with the Lord!

Those left to cherish the memory of his unconditional love are his wife, Pat of Charles City; three children, Tony (Cheryl) Trainer of Monticello, Minnesota, Tim (Samantha) of Mason City, and Tracy (Jason) Thurm of Humboldt; six grandsons, Samuel, Isaac, Gabriel, Jacob, Joseph, and Vincent; his mother, Irma Kay of Manchester; three brothers, Dick Trainer of Austin, Texas, Don (Nancy) Trainer of Manchester, and Tom (Janet) Trainer of Charles City; a half sister, Valerie Trainer of Charles City; two half brothers, John and Joe Trainer; and many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and special uncle John Aird.
