Trial set for Nov. 30
in Charles City Slaying

CHARLES CITY — A November 30 trial is set in Floyd County District Court for Christopher North, 24, of Charles City, who is accused of killing a former high school classmate.

North is charged with first degree murder and first degree arson in the July 2003 death of Jason Kapping. Kapping, 23, of Charles City, was stabbed and decapitated before his house was set on fire.

North was twice found incompetent to stand trial. Earlier this month, Judge Jon
Scoles ruled North competent. North entered a written plea of not guilty last week.
