NASHUA -- John Roger Kasemeier, 68, of Nashua, passed away Thursday morning, July 24, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center -- North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Military Rites will be performed by Nashua V.F.W. Post # 6792. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

John Roger Kasemeier was born Dec. 3, 1934 in Plainfield, the son of John and LaVona (Zinn) Kasemeier. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1953. After graduation he began working for the Oliver Tractor works in Charles City. He then served as a PFC in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. Following his discharge, he returned to Oliver Corporation (White Farm Equipment Co.) until retiring in 1982.

He was united in marriage to Noma Lou Hirsch on June 16, 1955, and to this union four children were born. John will be remembered for his love of cooking, fishing and hunting. He was greatly noted for his wild game feeds.

John is survived by three children: Laurie (Kenneth) Simpson of Charles City, Jeffrey Kasemeier of Newton and Wendy Kasemeier of Burlington; one sister, Kathie (Gary) Philo of Waterloo and a special friend, Virginia Hinders. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, in 1978; his father, John Kasemeier; his mother, LaVona; step-father, Herburt Kasemeier; son Bradley Kasemeier; and one brother, LaVern Kasemeier.

Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.
