Robert Vern Bohner, 87, a resident of 613 Brasher, Nashua, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services for Robert Bohner will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Chaplain Esme` Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Robert Vern Bohner was born Feb. 15, 1916 in Butler County, the son of George and Katie (Hinrichs) Bohner. He received his education at Bristow. On January 1, 1940 he married Lavon Behrends. They later divorced. At the time of retirement Robert was employed at BC Hydrotile. Robert enjoyed fishing, and watching all star wrestling, auto racing, and chuck wagon racing. Spending time with his grandchildren brought Robert special happiness.

Living family members include six children, Sharon (LeRoy) Rover of Charles City, Judy (Chet) Taylor of Clarksville, Patty (Don) LaRue of Ionia, Donald (Marlis) Bohner of Greene, Larry (Hui Cha) Bohner of Charles City, and Marilyn (Dave) Thoe of Golden, CO; ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

His parents, four brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death.
