CHARLES CITY - John Law, 65, of 607 Cedar Street, Charles City, died Sunday (Dec. 29, 2002) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for John Law will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., in Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley Hayek, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hauser Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.

John Law, 65, a resident of 607 Cedar Street, Charles City, died Sunday, December 29, 2002 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, Iowa.

Funeral services for John Law will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Monsignor Stanley Hayek, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday.

John Bruce Law was born Dec. 5, 1937, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of John R. and Monica (Rapp) Law. He graduated from the Riceville High School in 1956. John served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965. On July 10, 1959, he was united in marriage to Bernadette Halligan at Osage. Bernadette died on December 14, 1979. In August of 1987 he was united in marriage to Norma Hansen. Norma died in 1992. John worked all of his life as a truck driver. Just before his retirement he was employed at Allied Construction. John enjoyed playing slot machines, cards, visiting friends, and spending time with his family. His mechanical abilities were seen as he worked with his hands and in being a general handyman.

Living family members include five children, Vicki Krumwiede (David) of Charles City, Bob Law (Maria) of Cedar Falls, Susan Bouska (David) of Las Vegas, Nev., and John Law (Jennifer), and Tim Law both of Cedar Falls; fifteen grandchildren, Sherri Aikey, Lisa Krumwiede, Billie Jo Law, Megan Law, Zachary Law, Nicole Palomarez, Krystal Law, Tiffany Frickson, Brittany Frickson, Jordan Nieman, Josie Law, Benjamin Bouska, Matthew Bouska, Sarah Bouska, and Vincent Law; two great granddaughters, Justine Breitbach, and MacKenzie Kyhl; and three sisters, Ann Marcalus (Fred) of Jewell, Linda Bartels (William) of Dyserville, and Marjorie Young (Gene) of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and three sons, David in 1998, and Steven and Brian in infancy.

Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
