Sherry was born a set of twins on Feb. 25, 1952, in Mason City, to Melvin and Lois (Mathers) Burzette. She was a 1970 graduate of Charles City Community High School in Charles City.

Sherry was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 1996. She was determined to fight it and she did. She was cancer free until April 2002 when she was diagnosed with cancer in the lining of her heart. Once again she was going to fight it. She courageously started chemotherapy treatments again.

Sherry was a very spiritual person and believed in God and that God would take care of her. She left this physical world in peace.

In May 2002 her daughter, Brandi graduated from Charles City Community High School. Also in May, Sherry and Brandi moved to Monroe, to be closer to her son Chad and his family in Pella. Until April 2002, Sherry was manager of a convenience store in Charles City.
