DES MOINES, IOWA - Thomas R. Bach, 73, of Des Moines, died July 24, 2002, at the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines after suffering from a liver ailment. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Friday, July 26, 2002, at the Brooks Funeral Care in Clive with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the Basilica of St. John in Des Moines. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Thomas was born in Charles City and spent most of his life in Des Moines. He was self-employed in the Public Relations field and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Basilica of St. John in Des Moines. Thomas enjoyed horseracing.

He is survived by five sons: Thomas and Rick of Des Moines, Jim of West Des Moines, Mike of Carroll, and Randy of Ida Grove; three daughters: Cherie Long and Theresa Wig of Des Moines and Cindy Burkett of Perry; one brother, Chuck Bach of Ankeny; one sister, Darlene Fini of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a companion, Jeanine Cauterucci of Des Moines; and a step-son, Joel Cauterucci of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Marie Bach.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines.

Brooks Funeral Care in Clive is in charge of arrangements.
