CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Marvelyn (Mrs. Elden) Pyle, 70, of 1906 Owen St., died Thursday (June 20, 2002) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City with the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Marvelyn, (Mrs. Elden) Pyle, age 70, a resident of 1906 Owen Street, Charles City, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at her home.

Funeral services for Marvelyn Pyle will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. The Rev. Dennis Niezwaag, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and an hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Marvelyn Rice Pyle was born August 15, 1931, in Floyd County the daughter of Leslie and Blanche (Tolle) Rice. She graduated from the Colwell High School in 1948. On Nov. 6, 1948, she married Bernald Venz and they later divorced. Marvelyn married Arnold Voelker on Nov. 11, 1994, and he died shortly afterwards. It was on June 14, 1995, that she married Elden Pyle at Las Vegas, Nev. Elden died on April 9, 2001. During her working career, Marvelyn was employed at White Farm Equipment Company for 25 years and then for T.C.I. of North Iowa as manager, retiring in 1992.

Living family members include four daughters, Janice Morehead and husband Ken of Peoria, Ariz., Connie Benson of Iowa City, Carman White and husband Bruce of Charles City, and Diane Jenc and husband Rich of Round Rock, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; four sisters, Velma Heck and husband Jim of Laramie, Wyo., Eunice Green of Mesa, Ariz., Shirley Heinmiller of Bethalto, Ill.; and Margaret Schwalb and husband Arnie of Mesa, Ariz.; and a brother-in-law, Glen Pyle and wife Sue of Charles City.

Her parents, husbands, a great grandson, and a sister preceded her in death.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of North Iowa Charles City site.
