Florence (Mrs. Paul) Schrader, 96, a former resident of 302 15th Avenue, Charles City, died Monday, April 8, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services for Florence Schrader will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Revs. Dianne Christopher and Diane Mitchell, pastors, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the service.

Florence Mae Ponto Schrader was born January 19, 1906, at Charles City, the daughter of Herman and Frankie (Waid) Ponto. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1923. On December 31, 1923, he was united in marriage to Paul Schrader at Charles City. From 1954 to 1967 they owned and operated Schrader Plumbing and Heating at Nashua. Florence was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a former member of Cedar Side Club. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and doing needlework. Florence was a farmer at heart.

Living family members include a son, Dave Schrader and wife Phyllis of Charles City; a daughter, Betty Peterson of Charles City; 6 grandchildren, David, and Gayle Peterson, Nancy Herron, David, Richard, and Michael Schrader; eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband in 1979, a grandson, Kevin Schrader, a sister, Mary Noah, and a son-in-law, Roy Peterson preceded her in death.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dianne Christopher and the Rev. Diane Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.
