Mrs. Fred Ruef

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mrs. Fred Ruef, 80, died Thursday evening at the Chautauqua Guest Home where she had been a patient four months following a hip fracture. Mrs. Ruef came to Charles City four years ago from San Diego, Calif., to be near her daughter, Mrs. Melanchton Jones following the death of her husband in California.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church, and was a 50-year-member of the Eastern Star at Armstrong and a member of the DAR.

Edith May Robinson was born Jan. 29, 1884 in Grundy County the daughter of B.F. and Elizabeth Barnes Robinson. She was married to Fred W. Ruef June 18, 1908 at Armstrong. Survivors include her daughter here, and a son, Ben E. Ruef, Spring Valley, Calif., seven grandchildren and a sister, Miss Clara Robinson, Oconomowoc, Wis.

Funeral services will be held in Charles City Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home. Burial will be made at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, California.
