DR. WERNER P. PELZ

NASHUA - Dr. Werner P. Pelz, 88, of Nashua, formerly of Charles City, died Thursday morning (Feb. 10, 2000) at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City of arteriosclerotic vascular disease.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charles City. Inturnment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

There will be no visitation. Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family. A memorial fund will be established in Dr. Werner's name.

Dr. Werner P. Pelz was born on Nov. 23, 1911, in Goettingen, Germany, the son of Julius and Sophie (Adler) Pelz. He graduated from the University of Bern in Bern, Switzerland, in 1937, with a medical degree.

He was united in marriage to Edna Frowick on June 8, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1985. He was united in marriage to Donna Head on Oct. 28, 1988.

Dr. Pelz was a medical doctor serving the communities of Lakota and Nashua before starting his practice in Charles City, retiring in 1982.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Nashua; four sons, Dr. Thomas Pelz, of Shawano, Wis., Harlan Pelz and his wife, Gay, of Denver, Colo., James Pelz, of Providence, R.I. and Stephen Pelz and his wife, Veronica, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter, Kristine Lassleben and her husband, Mark, of Jubilaeumsstrasse Bern, Switzerland; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna M. Pelz on March 18, 1985.
