CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Keith Roy Darrow, age 78, died from cancer on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center. He was born May 7, 1930 in Charles City, [Floyd county, Iowa,] the son of Delbert and Vera (Strickler) Darrow. He graduated from Colwell High School, just north of Charles City, with the class of 1948. Keith joined the Charles City National Guard, and was a member from 1948 until 1956.

On December 31, 1976, he married Aldyth Bieter Morrow at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

He worked at various jobs such as a tree trimmer and at Ellendale Creamery, but he was a farmer at heart. Keith worked at a farm from 1987 to 1994 just north of Traer. Most recently, he worked at Tysons, just retiring in 2007. Keith was a “fix it” guy who could do anything. He loved his family, farming gardening and his dog Sam.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Darrow; a twin brother Ken Darrow; two sisters, Karen Darrow and Gladys Winters; a step-daughter, Mary Morrow and a sister in-law, Esther Darrow.

Keith is survived by his wife Aldyth of Waterloo; two brothers, Dean (Anita) Darrow of Charles City and Paul (Sharon) Darrow of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Carol Litterer and Judy (Don) Bluhm, both of Charles City; two step-sons, Richard Morrow and Mark Morrow, both of Helena, Mont.; three step-daughters, Barb Baringer of Indianola, Linda Johnson of Des Moines and Dorothy (Jamie Henderson) Morrow of Des Moines, and many step-grand and step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
