CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Ruth Hargrave, 78, 140 Maple Drive, Apt. #5, Albia, and formerly of Charles City, died Monday (Oct. 28, 1996) at her residence of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with the Rev. Raymond G. Hampton of Trinity United Methodist Church, Albia, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Ruth Hargrave was born May 8, 1918, in Floyd County, the daughter of John and Ethel Toepfer. She was an employee of HON Industries in Muscatine, retiring in 1987.

Living family members include two daughters, Nancy Beckwith Norman, Albia, and Barbara Beckwith Ouderkerk of Healy, Alaska; one brother, Verle Toepfer of Santa Maria, Calif.; three sisters, Leola Hyde of El Reno, Okla.; Louise Allen of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Eleanor Tripp of Harlingen, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rusty; and a son, Larry Beckwith.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
