CHARLES CITY, IOWA - John L. Howe, 100, of 1000 S. Main St., died Saturday (Feb. 6, 1999) at his home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Roseville.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City. A vigil scriptural wake service will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the Mass Thursday at the church.
John Leonard Howe was born March 29, 1898, in Butler County.
Living family members include two daughters, Virginia Brinkman and Evelyn Jensen, both of Charles City; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Josephine Howe of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, an infant grandson and four brothers.
