Thomas J. Squier, 60, of Charles City, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at his home in Charles City.

Pastor David Werges will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Thomas John Squier was born June 23, 1948, at Charles City, the son of Truman and Crystal (Johnson) Squier. He graduated from the Nora Springs High School and later from Hawkeye Tech.

On December 11, 1976, he was united in marriage to Paula North at the Methodist Church in Rockford. Tom owned EBBCO Construction for 18 years. He was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. His interests included racing, dart ball, woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.

Living family members include his wife Paula Squier of Charles City; three children, Eric Squier of Charles City, Brian (Michell) Squier of Charles City and Bethany Squier and her fiance, Luke Conner of Mason City; granddaughter, Destiny Squier of Charles City; mother, Crystal Squier of Nora Springs; sister, Karen (Dale) Olson of Decorah; mother-in-law, Dorothy North of Rockford; sisters and brothers-in-law; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Truman; and father-in-law, James North.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City or to Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City.
