Lucille Boekemeier, age 90, of Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Monday, September 25, 2006, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Lucille Emma Perrin Boekemeier was born April 16, 1916, in Mitchell County, the daughter of Richard and Emma (Rolfes) Perrin. She graduated from the Floyd High School.

On September 9, 1938, she was united in marriage to Donald Boekemeier at Rockford. They farmed all their lives southwest of Charles City. Lucille was a member of the West Saint Charles United Methodist Church where she had served as president of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Friendly Birthday Club, Farm Bureau and had served on the election board. Lucille’s interests included gardening, sewing and fishing. Family was always important to her and she looked forward to spending time with them.

Living family members include her husband Donald Boekemeier of Rockford; a son, David (Peggy) Gillespie of Amery, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Russell (Ronda) Boekemeier, Marie (Doug) Frenz, and Dan Gillespie; three great grandchildren, Curtis Boekemeier, Anthony Frenz and Stephanie Frenz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Boekemeier; two brothers, Gib and Harold Perrin; and a sister, Stella Newton.
