Mary A. Knudsen, age 51, of Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Mary Ann Knudsen was held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa. Inurnment will be in Pierce, Minnesota at a later date.

Mary Ann Virnig was born on November 26, 1957, in Cook County, Illinois, the daughter of Morris and Lorraine (Immel) Virnig. She attended St. James Parochial School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Mary later attended public school in Bayfield, Wis. and Wisconsin State School in Sparta, Wisconsin. Later in Mary’s life, she moved to Rockford, where she lived and enjoyed life with her significant other, William Graham.

Living family members include her father, Morris Virnig of Owensboro, Ky.; a daughter, Mariah Ohlendorf; son, William Knudsen; a granddaughter, Alexiuz Ohlendorf; her brother, Richard Virnig of Spring, Texas; her significant other, William Graham of Rockford; his children, Shawn, Zachery and Kristina Graham; his mother, Connie Graham of Rockford; his grandmother, Minnie Graham of Charles City; his brother, Robert (Cindy) Graham of Rockford and their children, Lacey and Kaleb Graham; a special friend, Mona Kellogg of Rockford, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine in 1992.
