Nina Lucile Smith, 92, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Pastor Allan Simms will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens at Charles City.

Nina Lucile Lampson Smith was born June 13, 1915, at Nashua, the daughter of Charlie and Alma (Thompson) Lampson. She graduated in 1935 from the Ionia High School.

On June 9, 1938, she was united in marriage to Arnold Smith at the Little Brown Church. Their first five years they lived in Waterloo, Iowa, then moved to a farm near Frederika where they would live until Arnold’s death on September 14, 1984.

Nina then moved to Charles City, spending the winters in St. James City, Florida. Nina was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Frederika and an associate member of Fisher’s of Men Lutheran Church at St. James City. She was also a member of the Heritage Club. Nina enjoyed baking, which she shared with everyone, gardening and taking walks. Family was very important to Nina and she took every opportunity to share her life with them.

Living family members include a son, Glen (Virginia) Smith of Bayview, Tex.; a daughter, Karol (Paul) Kammeyer of Belize City, Belize; five grandchildren, Jason Smith, Andrea Gentry, Tricia Smith, Scott Kammeyer and Hollie Fisher; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Lore of Nashua; three brothers, Wendall (Susie) Lampson of Ionia, Johnny (Charlene) Lampson of Charles City and Glen (Jean) Huffman of Evansdale; and two sisters-in-law, Alene Lampson and Judy Huffman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Shari Kae Kammeyer; a sister; and four brothers.

Memorials may be directed to the Saint John Lutheran Church, 301 4th Avenue, Frederika, Iowa.
