Lois E. Schwartz, 74, of Charles City, died Wednesday, December 06, 2006, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Lois Elaine Schwartz was born July 12, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Irene (King) Leslie at Bancroft, Iowa. She graduated from High School in Lakota.

On April 15, 1951 she was united in marriage to Edwin Schwartz at the Methodist Church in Lakota, Iowa. Lois was employed at Sovay Animal Health as a veterinarian technician until retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship. Her interests included camping, traveling, playing bingo and especially spending time with her friends and family.

Living family members include her husband, Edwin Schwartz of Charles City; two children, Jim (Cindy) Schwartz of Woodland, Michigan, and Janice (Chuck) Johnson of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Tad (Sherrie) Schwartz of Charlotte, Michigan, Tara (Ben) Black of Laingsburg, Michigan, Nathan (Samantha) Schwartz of Charlotte, Michigan, Katrina (Josh) Hart of Aurora, Colorado, and Brandon Johnson and special friend Sarah of Mason City; two great grandsons, Thomas and Braedyn Johnson; three step granddaughters Joheather, Leslie, and Jessie Grant all of Woodland, Michigan; three brother in-laws, Fred (Rose) Schwartz of Morganton, Georgia, William Coombs of Fairmont, Minnesota, Loran Clayton of Armstrong; five sister in-laws, Erna Doocy of Owatonna, Minnesota, Lillian (Irvin) Smith of Armstrong, Evelyn (Don) Johnson and Betty (Jim) Smith all of Swea City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Velma Coombs and Edna Paulson; three brother in-laws, Ervin and Harold Schwartz, and Art Doocy; two sister in-laws, Florence Clayton and Marge Schwartz; and one nephew Steven Schwartz.
