Betty Whitley, 84, of Charles City, died Tuesday, December 04, 2007, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Pastor Gary Van Wert of the Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Betty Marriott Whitley was born January 2, 1923, the daughter of Voyle and Anita (Jones) Marriott.

Living family members include her four children, Joe (Barbara) Whitley of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Steve (Rita) Whitley of Kennesaw, Georgia, Becky Rice of North Georgia, and Karen (Rick) Perez of Charles City; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Marriott of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa 1003 Gilbert St. Charles City, IA 50616.
