Frances W. Strauser, 87, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at the Bartels Lutheran Home, in Waverly, Iowa.

Frances Winifred Luck was born January 25, 1919, the daughter of Greenbery Bright and Ethel (Blunt) Luck at New Hartford. She received her education from the Waverly High School.
On November 9, 1938, she was united in marriage to Laurence Strauser at Osage. Frances was a member of the Nashua Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Temple Baptist Church. Her interests included cooking, singing, crossword puzzles, collecting salt and pepper shakers, sports, especially football and ice skating. She also enjoyed watching channel 7, Wheel OF Fortune, and Deal Or No Deal.

Living family members include three daughters, Judy (Roger) Heffron of Charles City, Pat (Bob) Nootnagel of Charles City, and Cyndee (Bob) Springer of Charles City; a son, Denny (Deb) Strauser of Waverly; 14 grandchildren, Mike Heffron, Erin Bockoven, Rick Nootnagel, Cory Nootnagel, Betsy Nootnagel, Jenny Mehmen, Jayne Reysack, Amy Springer, Amanda Springer, Kelly Springer, Angie Carey, Debbie Strauser, Scott Strauser and Levi Stephens; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel Mae Milligan, Cherity Gunderson, Naomi Barna, and Donna (Bob) Westervelt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1980; three sisters, Edna Strauser, Mabel Cagley, and Keitha Irene Luck; and four brothers, Ralph, Tracy, Jack and Clarence Luck.
