Nellie Dvorak Gerber, age 98, of Charles City, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, in Charles City.

Nellie Mildred Miller Dvorak Gerber was born March 10, 1908, at Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Theresa (Devery) Miller. She received her education in Okalahoma.

Nellie was united in marriage to Charles Dvorak. Charles died on August 15, 1961. Nellie was then married to Fred Gerber on April 19, 1969. Fred died on March 6, 1986. She worked in the dietary department of St. Joseph’s School in Cresco, Iowa.

Nellie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Circle. Her interests included doing needlework and arts and crafts of various types and listenin to country western music.

Living family members include six children, William (Ruth) Dvorak of Fremont, Nebraska, Eugene (Eileen) Dvorak of Waterloo, Iowa, Robert (Peg) Dvorak of Denison, Texas, Charles (Grace) Dvorak of Bellingham, Washington, Karen (Dale) Linderman of Mason City, Iowa, and Wayne (Linda) Dvorak of Gillette, Wyoming; 30 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Donald Dvorak; a grandson, Terry Dvorak; three sisters, Ann Riebeck, Ursula Michaels and Margaret Mustain; and a brother, Joe Miller.
