Kale Tibbitts, 64, of Charles City, died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Kale Burrdette Tibbitts was born December 22, 1942, at Osage, the son of Burr and Ina (Ferch) Tibbitts. He graduated from the Charles City High School.

On November 24, 1961, he married Ann Gardner. To this union three children were born. They later divorced. Kale then married Susie Koehler in September of 1979 and to this union two children were born.

Kale worked at various places including John Deere in Waterloo, White Farm Equipment Company, Trane Air Conditioning in LaCrosse, Wis. and after retiring he worked as a bartender in several local establishments. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing stock cars. Kale was also very passionate about NASCAR with his favorite driver being #6 Mark Martin. Most dear to him was his family and friends who will always remember his devilish sense of humor.

Living family members include five children, Kerry (Peppie) McLachlan of Cathedral City, Calif., Kimberley Stoddard of Charles City, Joseph (Lisa) McLachlan of Harvard, Ill Lacey Sue (Nathan) Baum and Mitchell Tibbitts both of Onalaska, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan and Matthew McLachlan, Derek Beattie and Jeffrey Stoddard, Jennifer (Brian) Camp, John and Paige McLachlan, and a soon to arrive granddaughter Baum; a great grandson, Andrew Brian Camp; his mother, Ina Tibbitts of Charles City; a brother, Garry Tibbitts of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Lyle Tibbitts.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
