William G. Perry, 62, of Beloit, Wisconsin, and formerly of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on September 25, 2004, at the Pinnacle Health Center in Waukegan, Illinois.

Funeral services for William Perry will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 29 at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor A.C. Wegner will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday evening. Visitation will continue at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

William Grant Perry was born October 23, 1941, in Iowa City the son of Grant and LaVyna (Sheffner) Perry. He was raised and educated in Charles City.

In 1962, he was united in marriage to Linda Matte in Charles City. The couple later divorced. Bill was employed by area roofing companies, worked as a fisherman off of a tugboat in Texas, was a truck driver in the Midwest, and worked as a carpenter for many years for the Area Community Action Committee in Springfield, MO. He enjoyed fishing, stockcar racing and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children Virginia (Christopher) Barber, Forest City, William Perry, Springfield, MO, Susan Benson, Marshfield, MO, Lois Keaton, Springfield, MO, Kay (Brian) Keifer, Plainfield; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Dann, Helen Bill, Jane True, Jennet Kock, and Sharon Maier all of Charles City, Bertha Marrs, Rockford, Mary (Tom) Roeder, Springfield, MO, Pauline (Francis) Murray, Beloit, WI, Darlene (Ronald) Ferch, Eldora, Carol (Rev. Norman) Bauer, Calmar.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Fred Perry; and 1 grandchild, and nephews, David Ferch and Fred C. Perry.
