CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Carlyle "Bud" Jung, 85, of Charles City, died Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Bud Jung will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Gayle Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

There will be a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Carlyle “Bud” Jung, 85, of Charles City, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Carlyle Louis Jung was born June 30, 1919, at Charles City, the son of Louis and Fay (Walker) Jung. He graduated from the Charles City High School in 1937. Upon graduation Bud went to Linotype school in Charles City and then worked at the Aplington newspaper.

On March 16, 1941, he was united in marriage to Eunice Dreyer at Greene. Bud then worked for the Oliver Corporation until he served in the United States Army from 1943 - 1946. Upon his return from active duty Bud worked at Salsbury Laboratories, raised turkeys and was a grounds keeper for the Charles City School District. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Bud enjoyed fishing, playing cards and visiting with friends.

Living family members include his wife, Eunice Jung of Charles City; a son, David Jung of Charles City; three grandchildren, Robert Jung, Crystal Boatwright and Carrie Reams; two nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd Jung; and a sister, Dorothy Gayther.
