Charles City, IowaLucille Carroll, age 75, of Ionia, Chickasaw county, Iowa, and formerly of Charles City, Iowa, died on Friday, April 15, 2006, at her residence.
Lucille Ethel Winkelman Carroll was born August 15, 1930, at New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ethel (Whitnabel) Winkelman. She received her education at the Bradford School, Nashua.
On September 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Carroll at the Little Brown Church. They lived in the Nashua area before moving to Charles City. Lucille was an Avon Representative for a number of years and also worked at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City Cabinet Factory, Trowbridge and Red Owl super markets and at Fareway.
She was baptized into the Lutheran faith. Her interests and hobbies included bird watching, fishing, playing cards, aggravation and pinball machines and dancing. Lucilles greatest enjoyment at this time, since it was difficult to leave her home, was talking with her friends on the telephone.
Living family members include two children, Jerry Carroll and special friend Sandi Hogan of Ionia, and Connie (Loui) Castellanes of Jamul, Calif.; three grandchildren, Joey (Tara) Carroll, Michelle (Jeff) Zaiser and Heather (Chris) Zennedjian ; two great grandchildren, Carson and Christian Zennedjian; a brother, William (Lois) Winkelman of Charles City; a sister, Valeda (Kenneth) Lines of Nashua; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on October 18, 1994; and a brother, Robert Winkelman.
