Mary A. Clark McGinn, 75, of Des Moines, formerly of Charles City, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mary Agnes Heddinger Clark McGinn was born April 29, 1932, at Fenton, the daughter of George and Agnes (Elbert) Heddinger. She graduated from Emmetsburg Catholic High School. On October 23, 1954, she was united in marriage to Mike Clark. They later divorced.

Mary married Philip McGinn on July 22, 1981. Philip died on August 22, 2005. She worked for many years at Club Iowa and Bissonette Chevrolet. Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Circle. Her children were very important to her and Mary always made them her priority. Mary enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her preparation of hearty American dishes.

Living family members include two children, Bo (Lara) Clark of Dover, Mass. and Michelle (Pat) Boyle of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Mia Elizabeth Clark and John Clark; five sisters, Marge (Harold) Staudt and Fran (Keith) Oldham both of Charles City, Jeanette Balint of Ft. Dodge, Paulette (Art) Goodwin of Omaha, Nebr., and Cheryl (Rich) Hartman of Plymouth, Minn.; six brothers, Gerald Heddinger of Daytona Beach, Fla., George (Karen) Heddinger of West Des Moines, Jack (Carolyn) Heddinger of Eldridge, Jim of Des Moines, Kenneth (Myrna) Heddinger of Emmetsburg and Robert (Mary) Heddinger of Stanberry, Mo.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Mike Clark; a son, Kevin Clark; two sisters, Evelyn Heddinger and Betty Ross; and a brother, Joseph Heddinger.

Memorials may be directed to the Calvary Cemetery Fund of the Immaculate Conception Parish.
