Dennis Nehls, 59, of Wellsburg, formerly of Charles City, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Dennis Ray Nehls was born July 24, 1948, at Charles City, the son of Clair and Donna (Simerson) Nehls. He graduated from the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in 1966.

On February 4, 1967, he was united in marriage to Deborah Paine. Deborah passed away on May 29, 2001. Dennis then married Roxanne Brown on April 26, 2003. He had worked at White Farm Equipment Company, then at various foundries and was currently employed at Seneca Foundry in Webster City. Dennis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish, the Isaac Walton League and the Elks Club in Charles City.

His interests included fishing, hunting, reading and watching the Green Bay Packers. Dennis’s greatest interest, however, was spending time with his family and friends.

Living family members include his wife, Roxanne Nehls of Wellsburg; three children, Ray (Toni) Nehls of Charles City, Angela (John) Hamilton of Cedar Falls and Dustin Brown of Wellsburg; six grandchildren; his father, Clair Nehls of Mason City; and eleven brothers and sisters, David (Charlotte) Nehls of Ionia, Doug Nehls of West Des Moines, Mary (Gary) Druehl of Charles City, Karen (Bob) Roethler of Charles City, Diana (Dean) Bucknell of Wautoma, WI, Sue (Steve) Redmond of Charles City, Daniel “Pete” Nehls of Charles City, Chris (Tony) Byers of Colwell, Cathy (Randy) Nibaur of Austin, MN, Theresa (David) Turpen of Webster City and Dale Nehls of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his mother and first wife.
