Daniel Leech, 40, of Charles City, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at the family farm.

Daniel Ray Leech was born December 19, 1967, at Davenport, the son of Charley and Cheryl (Russell) Leech. He was raised in the Wheatland area most of his life moving to Clinton in his senior year where he graduated from the Clinton High School and later from truck driving school in St. Louis, Missouri.

Daniel also served in the National Guard for several years. He owned and operated Daniel’s Tree Service for 11 years and was also a truck driver. Daniel was a member of the Better Business Bureau. His interests included hunting, fishing and mushrooming. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Living family members include his wife, Jill Leech of Charles City; five children, Autumn and Jon Leech of Cedar Rapids, Destiny Leech of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sierra and Nola Leech of Charles City; three grandchildren, Kaden, Niana and Harmony Leech; his parents, Charley and Cheryl Leech of Wheatland; three brothers, Todd Michael Leech, Bob (Brandi) Leech and Jim (Erin) Leech all of Wheatland; two sisters, Kathy (Jason) Hamilton of Wheatland and Amy (Mike) Adney of Goose Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and three aunts, Bonnie Griffith, Minnie Rylas and Connie Leech.
