Edna R. Ladd, 96, formerly of 902 Sprigg, passed away Saturday, May 08, 2004 at the Salsbury Baptist Home, Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Edna Rosabelle Ladd was born April 30, 1908 in Slope County, North Dakota the daughter of Penn Matlack and Rosa Belle Ladd. She received her education in Anamosa, Iowa, Edgemont, South Dakota and attended Ames High School, graduating June 5, 1925. Following her graduation, Edna began her career at Hart Parr in Charles City, September 30, 1925, in the Stenographic Department.
When Hart Parr merged into the Oliver Farm Equipment Company in 1929, she became secretary to the Plant Manager. She worked forty-nine years for Hart-Parr/Oliver/White, until retiring in 1974, without a doubt becoming the Plant’s First Lady. Edna was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Edna’s interests included sewing and traveling.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Wilma Leone Ladd.
