Mabel Sido, age 91, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Wednesday, August, 15, 2007 at her home.

Pastor David Werges will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Mabel Arlene Alice (Priebe) Sido was born April 20, 1916, at Fredericksburg, the daughter of Herman and Wilhelmina (Hemker) Priebe. She graduated from the Charles City High School.

On July 15, 1936, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Cecil Sido at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. Mabel was a bookkeeper at Kruse Pharmacy until her retirement. On August 14, 2007, Mabel received the Century Farm Plaque at the Iowa State Fair. She was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, the Dorcas Circle, Senior Citizens, and quilting at church for world relief.

Her interests included sewing, quilting, playing cards, volunteering at the Treasure Chest, baking cookies, and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Living family members include two daughters, Lloydene (Eugene) Brunner of Rockford, and Marlene Mohring of Charles City; four grandchildren, Kevin Mohring of Miami, Fla., Kellie (Tom) Schmit of Denver, IA, Tammie (Alex) Hirv of Rockford, and Eric (Janan) Brunner of Rockford; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Nelson of Charles City and Irene Birkholz of Rockwell Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1968; and a son Harlan Sido in 1950.
