Josephine Frascht, age 79, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Josephine Gertrude Frascht was born May 11, 1928, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Theodore and Agusta (Huffman) Vohsman. She graduated from the Nashua Community School.

On November 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Gus” Frascht at Saint Michaels’s Catholic Church in Nashua. They farmed near Nashua all of their lives moving to Charles City in 1990.

Josephine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Saint Michael’s Circle, and Riverton Homemakers. She had been a 4-H Leader and also volunteered with Hospice of North Iowa in Charles City and with Meals on Wheels. Her hobbies included curling, fishing, golfing, and playing cards and shuffleboard. Jo and Gus always looked forward to wintering in Texas which they did for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and sharing life’s experiences with them. Surrounding herself with family was always a very special part of her life.

Living family members include her husband, Gerald “Gus” Frascht of Charles City; two children, Judy (John) Miner of Cedar Rapids and Michael (Geri) Frascht of Charles City; five grandchildren, Ben (Brie) Miner, Matt Miner, Nicole (Ryan) Karr, Stewart (Nicole) Frascht and Val Frascht; three great grandchildren, Zoe Frascht, Tyler Karr and Gabriella Miner; a brother, Dick (Jane) Vohsman of Denver; three sisters, Lucille Shinstine of Waterloo, Phyllis (Charles) O’Neil of Nashua and Rose (Dave) Meek of Marble Rock; two sisters-in-law, Edith Vohsman of Nashua and Elnora Vohsman of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lawrence and Ted Vohsman.
