June M. (Mrs. Ivan) Lokenvitz, 87, a resident of 510 South Jackson Street, Charles City, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

June Marguerite Lokenvitz was born June 17, 1917 at Rockford, the daughter of Erwin and Nellie (Smith) Woelfer. She graduated from the Rockford High School. On November 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to Ivan Lokenvitz at Mason City.

They farmed together for many years west of Charles City. She was a member of the West Saint Charles United Methodist Church, West Saint Charles Homemakers Club, Farm Bureau, Friendly Birthday Club and the Friday Coffee Club. June always looked forward to spending time with her family and many friends. Her interests included reading and gardening.

Living family members include her husband, Ivan Lokenvitz of Charles City: three children, Dixie (Keith) Gettings of Denver, CO, Judith Lokenvitz of Muscatine, and Jerald (Marge) Lokenvitz of Madison, WI; six grandchildren, Deb TenBrink, Mike Hammel, Diane Bucknell, Jon Gettings, Jennifer Schwitzer and Diana Lokenvitz; five great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Robert Hammel of Charles City; two sisters, Carol Parcher of Rockford, and Betty (Mike) Schwarck of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary Hammel, and a sister, Roberta Inman.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the West Saint Charles United Methodist Church.
