Charles City, IA 50616Lucille Emma Pickar Baltes was born March 14, 1915, at North Washington, the daughter of William and Emma Pickar. She received her education from the Immaculate Conception School at North Washington. In 1934 she was united in marriage to Herman Baltes at North Washington.
Lucille owned Baltes Tavern at North Washington and also worked for 20 years as a nurse aide at Good Shepard Health Center and the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, Iowa, and the Saint Rose Circle.
Lucille always enjoyed playing a rousing game of 500. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.
Living family members include a son, Dan Baltes of Charles City; 10 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a sister, Eunice Crosby of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and two daughters.
