Arlene Wilson, 87, of Charles City, Iowa, died Friday, November 12, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services for Arlene Wilson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Dennis Niezwaag, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Arlene Leora Barrett Wilson was born November 16, 1916, at Bassett, the daughter of Willard and Julia Anne (Albertson) Barrett. She received her education at the Bassett School.

On September 11, 1937, she was united in marriage to Glen Wilson at the Little Brown Church. They lived south of New Hampton for several years and them moved to Charles City where they would spend the rest of their lives. Glen died on June 1, 1983.

Arlene’s hobbies included fishing, shopping, going for drives, camping, playing cards and doing embroidery work. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.

Living family members include two sons and their wives, Robert and Frances Wilson of Charles City, and Jerry L. and Elaine Wilson of Siren, WI; four grandchildren, Jackie Hoffman, Kim Koebrick, Corinne Stacy and Wendy Ross; 12 great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Arvin Tibbitts of Charles City.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Betty Tibbitts; three brothers and a sister.
