Oscar Ott, 83, of Charles City, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Oscar Bernard Ott was born November 11, 1922, at St. Lucas, the son of Baptist and Helena (Hackman) Ott. He attended Saint Luke’s Catholic School in St. Lucas.

On April 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Thecla Wenthold at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Festina. They farmed all of their lives near Rudd.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Senior Citizens. Oscar enjoyed fishing, taking walks and visiting with his buddies, flower gardening and tinkering with and adjusting his cars. His family was always very important to him and he looked forward to spending time with all of them, especially his grandchildren.

Living family members include his wife, Thecla Ott of Charles City, nine children, Joyce (Jim) Foth of Ankeny, Jerald (Mary) Ott of Mason City, Richard (Linda) Ott of Nora Springs, Phyllis (Bill) Ritter of Nevada, Dean (Ann) of Marble Rock, Larry (Debra) Ott of Greene, Cindy (Robert) Scott of Des Moines, Sherry (Bernard) Larson of Round Rock, Texas, Sally (Patrick) VanHooser of Forest City, one brother; Dale Ott of Ft. Atkinson, three sisters; Hilda Bullerman of Charles City, Leona Barloon of New Hampton, Hermina Koudelka of Cresco, 24 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jamie Ott; and four brothers; Roman, Leo, Paul, and Herbert Ott.
