Vivian B. Bailey, age 94, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Sunday, October 15, 2006, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Graveside services for Vivian Bailey will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Memory Garden rural Charles City. Pastor Sharon Sours of Broadcasters for Jesus Ministries will officiate.

Vivian Bonita Bailey was born November 8, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Verna (Dow) Dugan at Charles City. She received her education at Charles City. On August 31, 1929 she was united in marriage to Raymond Bailey at Charles City. Vivian was a full time cook at Jefferson High School until retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Charles City and the Friendship Circle. Her interests included cooking and eating; spending time with her grandchildren; visiting with others; she enjoyed life; and was known for always being on the go.

Living family members include a son Raymond Bailey Jr. of Ionia; a daughter JoAnn (Allen) Boggess of Ogden; 20 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter Peggy Chestnut; and a daughter-in-law Esther Bailey.
