Wayne D. Anderson, 68, of Marshalltown, and formerly of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died, Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

The Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be held in Oakwood Memorial Cemetery in Floyd. Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Wayne Dennis Anderson was born April 1, 1939, at Emmetsburg, the son of Superintendent Harold George and Josephine Louise (Seiler) Anderson.

With his parents both in education, he received his schooling at several Iowa public schools, graduating in May of 1956, with honors, from Floyd Consolidated School, in Floyd. He also attended Iowa Sate University and University of Northern Iowa. Before entering in the United States Navy Wayne was employed in the office of Britt Garage, in Britt; by Floyd County ASCS, Charles City; and the Woden Lumber Company, in Woden.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; former high school honor graduate; class president; class treasurer; member of the color guard for the 543rd company of the U.S. Navy; and most presently, disabled navy veteran. His interests included, traveling to different events; visiting various churches; trains; basketball; and fishing.

Living family members include his sisters, Marlene Hennick of Charles City, Elayne (Don) Stewart of Charles City, and Emily (Martin) Miller of Rudd; and twelve nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and several aunts and uncles.
