Lucille Sours, 87, of Charles City, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.
Graveside services for Lucille Sours will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock.
Lucille May Pratt Sours was born Jan. 7, 1921, at Nekoosa, Wis., the daughter of Donald and Phyllis (Soward) Pratt. She received her education at Nekoosa. On Dec. 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Claire Sours at Charles City. For several years they farmed near Marble Rock, moved to Sauk County, Wisc. for nine years and then returned to Iowa where they farmed near Ionia until Claire’s death on Jan.10, 1971.
From 1973 to 1999 she was employed at the Salsbury Baptist Home. She was a member of Broadcasters for Jesus Ministries. Lucille will be remembered as a loving caregiver.
Living family members include two daughters, Reverend Sharon Sours of Charles City and Eileen (Willis) Beebe of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren, Michelle (Ken) Ferguson of Casa Grande, Ariz., Maureen Haxton of Fargo, N.D., and Joleen Haxton of Irvine, Calif.; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Stoor; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Sours of Nashua; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Clifton Sours.
