Marjorie de Buhr, 91, of Rockford, Floyd County, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Memorial services for Marjorie de Buhr will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. Pastor Patricia Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford.

Marjorie Ellen Mooberry de Buhr was born December 13, 1916, at Marble Rock, the daughter of John and Hetta (Ritter) Mooberry. She graduated from the Rockford High School in 1934.

On March 27, 1935, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” de Buhr at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived at Charles City before moving to Minneapolis in 1941. In 1949 they returned to Iowa where they farmed south of Rockford for 30 years. Following Bill’s death she returned to Charles City. Marjorie married Valoris Taylor on June 11, 1986.

Living family members include two daughters, Louise (Jim) Ott of Rockford, Bea (Bruce) Pennington of Mason City; two sons, Larry (Gayle) de Buhr of Menomonie, Wisc., and Bruce (Brenda) de Buhr of Coon Rapids, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bill de Buhr in 1978 and Valoris Taylor in 1986; a sister, Wilma Gohr; and a brother, Clint Mooberry.
